Salisburys Accountants North Wales Sponsor Chris Russell

Salisbury’s Accountants in North Wales and Hale believe in supporting our local community, fellow North Wales businesses, vital charities and sporting excellence.

We sponsor several sports professionals and are delighted to announce a brand new sponsor, Chris Russell.

Chris is a professional athlete and sailor who is campaigning for the Rio 2016 Olympics in the laser class.

Having narrowly missed out in the London 2012 games, Chris is now more determined than ever to achieve the goal of competing in the Rio games in a few years’ time. His commitment to this goal can be easily witnessed in his rapid return to form as he jumped back up the rankings at the start of the 2013 season.

Chris took a win at the European Cup event in Switzerland during his first regatta of the season. This trend continued last year and he is set to deliver more of the same for 2015. His main focus now lies on the Olympic trials taking place later this year.
Chris will be racing in the Olympic Laser Class, which is a one-design boat. This means that all of the boats are identical. This makes the competition even more competitive as it all comes down to the pure skill of the athletes in their sailing abilities.

Qualification for the Olympics is likely to come down to a head-to head race between himself and one other, only one place is up for grabs at the Olympic games.
Chris has a professional background in advertising, having worked for Ogilvy for a number of years before pursuing his Olympic goals. He also established the D2R Foundation and enjoys a thriving coaching career.

It is a testament to Chris’ passion and drive that he has been able to build high-profile partnerships with the likes of Helly Hansen, CTS, GU Energy and more recently Honda.

Salisburys Accountants are proud to be among the sponsors for Chris Russell. We firmly believe in encouraging sporting excellence and we wish Chris luck in his training for the Olympic Trials.
