Hours: 37 ½ hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 2.30pm.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- 2 or more A’ levels with grades A to C or predicted grades at that level.
- IT competent with a basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and be flexible.
- The ability to be forward thinking and strive for continuous improvement.
- Friendly with good communication skills and polite telephone manner.
- The ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
About the role
You will join an accountancy team of 6, the duties you will train in and carry out are:
- Bookkeeping – processing for complex clients.
- Setting up automated bookkeeping systems including but not limited to
- Xero
- Quickbooks
- Contacting clients via email and telephone.
- Review and analysis of financial data.
- Balance sheet reconciliations for management accounts.
- Assisting with preparation of year end trial balances.
- Preparation of VAT returns and filings.
- Ad-hoc admin duties to assist staff as and when required.
Person Specification
You will ideally have 2 or more at A’ levels with predicated grades of A to C. Attention to detail is extremely important so you should be able to demonstrate in the interview that you have these skills. You will be a point of contact for our client base so excellent spoken and written communication is vital to help maintain the excellent Salisbury’s brand. Full training will be provided; however, it is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to learn and use new skills at a reasonable pace as well as the desire to succeed. The role includes the attendance at college 1 day a week in term-time to undertake AAT levels 2,3 & 4.
Intially, the post is full time and for a period of up to 4 years..
The starting salary for this role will be appropriate to age and previous experience, which will be reviewed annually in line with age and job performance.
